WINTER 2025 ROOTED EXPERIENCE

January 19-March 23
Sunday Mornings at Wellspring

Please sign up no later than January 18.

Begin the journey of Doing Life together.

Rooted is a 10-week discipleship experience designed to connect you to God, the church, and your purpose. Rooted is designed to bring you together with a group of 10-15 people from all walks of life to explore the Bible, engage in prayer, serve, share stories, and develop 7 spiritual rhythms essential for a healthy spiritual life.

The 7 spiritual rhythms of Rooted aren’t new, or something the church recently created, every one of them is found in Acts 2 where the early church began. Rooted helps take these important rhythms from mere head knowledge about God to meaningful experiences with God.

Our hope is that once you have gone through Rooted, you are more established in your faith and have found meaningful community. That is why we encourage all Rooted groups to continue doing life together after Rooted is over and become a Life Group.

If you have more questions about getting involved in Rooted, please read through the FAQ’s below, or email jderoo@wellspringcc.org.

FAQS about Rooted

What is Rooted?

Rooted is a 10-week discipleship program and a catalyst for life-change. It provokes questions and conversations and group experiences designed to give you a glimpse of your story in God’s story.

Who is it for?

Rooted is for everyone! Whether you are a new believer or just new to Wellspring, Rooted is the best way to get you connected to the church and to others. If you want to know more about who God is or you want to be challenged to grow deeper, Rooted is for you!

How do I register and what does it cost?

Registration is easy! Once registration is open for the upcoming session, click on which time you want to register for and follow the steps. While Rooted registration is FREE, each participant is responsible for purchasing the $20 workbook. You can pay for that when you register or, if money is the issue, you can complete the registration without paying. Please do not let money be the reason you do not sign up, join Rooted!

Where will my Rooted group Meet?

All our groups meet in person on Sunday Mornings. During the service that you register for, you will head upstairs where your group will be gathering.

Is there childcare available?

Because we are meeting on Sunday morning, we encourage you to drop your kids off in their Sunday school classroom prior to Rooted. This way they can enjoy an age appropriate service while you are connecting with others in Rooted.

What if I cannot make it to Week One?

We understand that life happens. If you miss Week One, your leader will be in contact with you, and you can still join your group. For the best Rooted experience, we recommend not missing more than 2 weeks. If your schedule requires you to miss more than two, feel free to jump in when the next Rooted session starts.

What if I cannot make all ten weeks?

We understand that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth it to invest in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than 2 meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted, or when you can commit to all 10 weeks. The 10 weeks are a cumulative experience, and so we ask that every participant commit to honor each other with being at every meeting.

How will my Rooted group be chosen?

Our Rooted team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 10-15 people. Our goal is to create groups that are multi-generational, but also practical. When we make groups, we consider age, marital status, life stage, and geographical location. The make-up of the groups ultimately depends upon the demographic of those who registered. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups which we think will provide the best experience for all people who attend. While we do our best to honor requests, when possible, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all friend or leader requests.

What if Registration is closed?

If registration is closed, then please check back before our next session begins.

What is the difference between Rooted and Life Groups?

Rooted is the on-ramp and foundation to Life Groups. Our prayer is that at the end of the 10 weeks, you will have created such a great community with your rooted group that it will continue into a life group. We strongly encourage everyone to go through Rooted before joining a Life Group.

When will I get my book?

The church will place the bulk order for books for everyone who is registered, and we will hand them out at the first session.

The 7 Rhythms of Rooted

The 7 Rhythms you’ll experience in Rooted, were demonstrated and inspired by the early church in Acts 2. By committing to practicing these rhythms in community, you will begin to see the type of growth and life change that goes beyond the individual to impact the whole church.

Daily Devotion (Acts 2:42, 46)

Scripture is the very Word of God. Through it, He equips us with all we need to learn about Him and live a life pleasing to Him. A daily rhythm of reading, meditating on and applying God’s Word to our lives is key.

Prayer (Acts 2:42)

One of the most important elements in any relationship is communication. Prayer is just that: engaging God in a conversation, sharing our hearts with Him, and spending time listening to His voice, both individually and in community.

Repentance (Acts 2:37-39)

Jesus saves those who believe and call upon his name. Saving grace is once and for all (justification) and also a continual invitation to repent for our wrongdoings. With the help of the Spirit, we take inventory of our lives, humbly and honestly confess our sin, and turn away from our sin toward God in surrender. Through Jesus’ offer of forgiveness, we receive true freedom.

Sacrificial Generosity (Acts 2:44-45)

Giving demonstrates our dependence on God. We acknowledge that all we own has been given to us by Him. In His generosity toward us, God desires that we grow in generosity and will use our resources as a tangible way to partner with Him in His work in the world and in the lives of those around us. We are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2).

Serve the Community (Acts 2:44-45)

We are called and equipped by the Holy Spirit to share God’s love by participating in the ministry of Jesus. He has given us agency with Him to fearlessly influence our society and the world. When we serve in the world and in His Church, we impact those around us and reveal God’s glory.

Share Your Story (Acts 2:14-36)

The greatest gift we can ever give someone who doesn’t yet know Jesus is an introduction to Him. Sharing our life stories is the most powerful way to show the transforming power and salvation offered through Jesus Christ. When we tell our stories of transformation, we tell the story of God.

Worship (Acts 2:26-28, 46-47)

As children of God, it is important to consistently set aside time to remember what God has done, to thank Him for it, and to put Him on display as we give Him the glory. In all circumstances, we are called to practice God-centered worship. The Rooted Experience is a 10-week small group journey that we will be doing twice each year to bring powerful rhythms of discipleship into the life of each participant and into the life of Wellspring Church.

Built around the 7 Rhythms of a Disciple, ROOTED creates intentional discipleship experiences that help people cross over from knowledge of the Bible to experiences with God.

For most groups, this will be a launching into Life Groups together. Once you start doing life together as a Rooted group, your relationships will grow deeper and it will be a natural flow into doing life together in a Life Group setting.

Be sure to sign up soon so we can have all the materials ordered and ready to launch. Registration is easy! Once registration is open for the upcoming session, click on which session you want to register for (First Service or Second Service).
